Whims Discipleship Update November 2023
In just over two-weeks our team of 10 guys from Crossridge Church and Discipleship International will head to Ensenada Mexico to finish building a home for the family below.
We are working with Las Tres Palmas ministry to build a two-bedroom home for this family of 7 who are currently living with 22 other extended family members in one house. Thanks to Crossridge Church and other donors we will be adding solar panels and batteries for added electricity to the home since there is no electricity delivered by the government to this area. In the evenings we will be doing door to door evangelism and supporting the local church. I am looking forward to connecting with these 9 other men and working together to complete the project. Pray for our team as we travel down to San Diego and cross the border into Mexico and that we are able to get the home done in time so they can move in before Christmas. Pray that the family would know Jesus as Lord and Savior and continued provision of work for the father.
Last Month my youngest son Jordan and I joined an outreach team at Main and Hastings serving chili, sandwiches and sharing the gospel. The picture below is of a young lady who was intently reading the gospel tract she was given. The tract asks the question, "What is the answer to the million dollar question?", "Where do I go when I die? Salvation is found in no-one else but Jesus. This group is out sharing their faith every Saturday and it is awesome to see the fruit that has come from it. Many of the men in my Tuesday discipleship class have connected through this street evangelism group. Pray for them as they faithfully tell people about Jesus and have meaningful conversations around the gospel.
In person and on-line discipleship training groups will pause for December as I will be away and for Christmas break. We will continue to connect to each other through application of what we are learning but not in a weekly meeting. We are finishing Book 2 with our in person mens group on Tuesdays, Africa on-line group is finishing Book 3 and the Asia on-line group is finishing Book 1. Pray for opportunities to start new discipleship groups in January. There are opportunities but I am prayerfully asking God before I commit.
As we head to the end of year our family is seeking to raise another $8000 before the end of 2023 in order to prepare for our budget for next year.
