Update from Kenya: April 2024

The Manee Kenya Team had a  two-day evangelism campaign held in Eldoret at Kisumu Ndogo and Lagas Town near ABC Lagas, on the 19th and 21st of April 2024.

This is what they shared with us:

First Day (19th April 2024)

On the first day, the team reached out to 126 individuals. The results were truly inspiring:

  • Salvations: 46

  • Restorations: 34

  • Prayed for: 49

Second Day Highlights (21st April 2024)

The second day, 152 people were reached.

  • Salvations: 40

  • Restorations: 14

  • Prayed for: 98

Total Impact

Over the course of these two days, they achieved:

  • Total Salvations: 83 (70 men and 13 women)

  • Total Restorations: 48

  • Total Number Salvations and Restorations: 131

  • Total Number Reached: 378

Challenges Faced

  1. Lack of Trust in the Church

  2. High Rate of Drug Abuse: Engaging with the target group required significant effort due to prevalent substance abuse.

  3. High Poverty Levels

  4. Lack of Basic Education

Way Forward

  1. The church (ABC Lagas) needs to plan evangelism activities more often, incorporating youth activities and discussions on the effects of drug abuse

  2. Need to plan for a 3 full day’s activity, the population is very high

  3. 3We created a WhatsApp chat group to unite the youths around Lagas town, especially those struggling with drug abuse, and we plan to introduce online discipleship class in future

  4. Names and phone numbers of people saved/restored will be given to ABC Lagas for follow up

We are grateful for the great things that the Lord is doing in Kenya. Stay tuned for more updates and stories from Manee Kenya.
