Valdemar Cuba Update

Santa Fe, Havana, Cuba, October 9, 2023.

I thank our Heavenly Father for the lives of those brothers who are participating with us, supporting us through prayer and financially for Irma and I’s missionary trip to Cuba for three months. With a portion of the received resources, we bought candies, food, and medicines (which we brought without packaging due to space constraints). We were also able to give an offering of $500 USD to our leader in Cuba, and an offering of $30 USD to 5 of the Discipleship participants. We delivered these offerings upon arrival, as the economic situation in this country is very difficult.

We are supporting and encouraging the already established Discipleship groups, which are: the Shalom Baptist Church, with book 4…

And the one that takes place at the Baptist Theological Seminary.

We also started two new groups with book 1, through Pastor Onel at the Rhema Baptist Church of Santa Fé, in Havana. Irma and I started with these groups and Pastor Onel will continue.

Thank God that he opened doors to work as indicated by the Cuban government, with a religious visa. I also want to mention that besides the EPS books, we brought manuals to teach in a seminar about the Formation of Powerful Ministerial Teams.

We have been practicing with the disciples who finished book 3, The Bridge Illustration.

We are also looking at the possibility of a leader, since she has been very outstanding in her participation in Discipleship, her name is Elizabeth and she is about to enter university, but she shows great interest in discipling

We use different types of transportation, some are very cheap, like bike taxis, and others a little more expensive, like gazelles and other taxis, and the old cars, which are much more expensive; and we use them to go to different places for teaching or shopping food.

Where we are staying is one block from the sea, so we can do our devotions continuously on the beach.

We have much more to say about the wonders that God is doing in this nation even through the economic needs. They only have one resource and one hope left, which is Jesus. Please accept our gratitude for your constant support and we pray that our Heavenly Father will bless each of you abundantly in all areas of your life. We will continue to inform you soon and if there are questions about our activity on the missionary trip we remain at your disposal.

Sincerely,

Irma & Valdemar.
