Philippines Update May 2023

After being sick for almost 2 weeks, and submitting my application for a job, I praise the Lord for restoring my health, and for His sustaining grace toward me and my discipleship mentees!

We managed to find time to get together once a week to learn more about Jesus and to grow spiritually as a group even though we had a very busy schedule because several of my mentees had young children, were pregnant, had work on their farms, and had to walk 4 to 5 hours to class. Praise be to God, for Book 3 of the ETS is now complete, and book 4 is about to begin.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support for the ministry here in our local tribal church in Sarangani Province, Philippines. We are grateful to the Lord for your lives. May our Almighty God bless you and continue to use you for His kingdom. Through discipleship, my mentees learn the value of serving the Lord faithfully, develop into great role models for their families, and lead them to the Lord. As of now, my mentees are my partners in children's and youth ministry. Glory to God!

Please, continue to keep Mahayag Evangelical Church in your prayers as we prepare to have Book 1 of ETS this August. We anticipate having between 15 and 25 church leaders and members attend. We have to walk for 6–8 hours or use a motorcycle for 4-5 hours to go to this church, which is in one of the farthest locations. Additionally, pray for more churches to make themselves open for discipleship training.

As we continue to make disciples and spread the good news of the gospel, let us firmly support one another in prayer.

In Christ,
Sister Shiela
