Jason Shellborn
Outreach Worker
I have been working with DI for the past 10 years and on staff part-time for the past six and a half years. I am involved in building people up in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Currently I am facilitating a group of young couples in Abbotsford. I have also been building into two new leaders who are beginning to disciple another group in Abbotsford. Over the past three years God has given me the opportunity to share the gospel and facilitate a bible study at the Union Gospel Mission in New Westminster. I have seen people accept Christ as their Lord and savior, be baptized, some go on to take the Equip To Serve training and others continue attending the Bible study and grow in their walk with the Lord.
I believe wholeheartedly that God has called me to the work of making disciples. I have grown in my understanding of who Christ is as I seek to fulfill the great commission. God has shown me how patient He is and how He loves the people He has created and deeply desires that they turn from their own ways and seek Him. Seeing a change of heart and joyful surrender towards Jesus Christ in those who are being discipled is the greatest blessing for me because I know that theses have an eternal effect. Discipleship is a ministry that creates lasting change in a person's life that bears fruit for many years to come. This is what enable me to persevere in the work. Praise God!
