Having been discipled as a brand new Christian it left me with a lasting impression of the need to come along other Christians and teach them what it is like to be a follower of Christ. 2 Timothy 2:2. I see discipleship (moving people to become committed followers of Christ) as the only way to effectively grow the church.

I started full-time with Discipleship International in 2004 leading Equip to Serve groups and discipling men one on one. I love the relationships that come out of learning about Jesus together. I am currently focusing my overseas work in Kenya and Uganda and East Asia. I am blessed by the relationships that have been built with our partners Manee Kenya & STEP Ministries. My wife Jennifer and I have 5 children and our commitment to disciple them into mature believers in Christ is one of our priorities.

I have now been Director of DI for over 5 years and am learning to wait patiently on the Lord for his timing but also to be active each day in sowing the seeds of the Gospel.

    1 Corinthians 3:6-7.

Since coming to Christ in Feb.1978 I have had a genuine zeal from the Spirit of God too share the gospel message with others.

It wasn’t until late 1983 that a young Pastor came along side of me and discipled me. It was through his mentorship and God’s Word that His will became clear to me in that I should walk as Jesus walked in making disciples of all nations. Keeping His will in mind I set out on a journey in studying the life of Christ and learning how to practically work out what it means to make disciples of Christ, who in turn would disciple others and they others. After working with the Navigators through a number of years the Lord led me to start up Discipleship International in 1994 and in the year 2000 I went full time into the ministry.

As the DI Provincial MB Director I enjoyed taking this next step of faith in this new work in this area. In the last four years in Manitoba God has blessed both June and I with a very fruitful ministry in making disciples, who disciple others, who in turn disciple others.

A verse I love is found in John 17:4 “I (Jesus) glorified You on earth, having accomplished the work that You gave me to do”

My challenge today is; will you follow Jesus in abiding in the will of God in making disciples, baptizing them and teaching them to obey everything Christ has commanded! (Matt.28:18-20)

My main responsibilities are to minister to congregants in small groups in the area of Discipleship : bible study, prayer, quiet times, outreach and overseeing their spiritual growth while maintaining Personal Spiritual Disciplines.

I have been involved with DI since 1994 when I took the ETS course and after that, I led ETS classes. In 2001 September, I became a full time staff at DI.

I believe that the ETS discipleship training is used by the Lord to transform lives as the students learnt how to meet with God on a daily basis and being accountable, pray and meditate on the Word of God and learn how to memorize the Topical Bible Verses that are practical and useful for their day to day living. They also learnt how to share their faith through the Salvation Testimony and the Bridge Illustration. At the same time they are learning how to lead bible studies and leadership skills which contribute to their service in their own churches.

Over the years, I have seen many lives changed, encouraged and discipling others (2 Timothy 2:2) Some had even gone to mission's trips and became missionaries locally or globally. The ministry of Di is helping to fulfill the Lord's Commission to the church in multiplying disciples locally and globally. ( Matthew 28:19,20)

I have been working with DI for the past 10 years and on staff part-time for the past six and a half years. I am involved in building people up in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Currently I am facilitating a group of young couples in Abbotsford. I have also been building into two new leaders who are beginning to disciple another group in Abbotsford. Over the past three years God has given me the opportunity to share the gospel and facilitate a bible study at the Union Gospel Mission in New Westminster. I have seen people accept Christ as their Lord and savior, be baptized, some go on to take the Equip To Serve training and others continue attending the Bible study and grow in their walk with the Lord.

I believe wholeheartedly that God has called me to the work of making disciples. I have grown in my understanding of who Christ is as I seek to fulfill the great commission. God has shown me how patient He is and how He loves the people He has created and deeply desires that they turn from their own ways and seek Him. Seeing a change of heart and joyful surrender towards Jesus Christ in those who are being discipled is the greatest blessing for me because I know that theses have an eternal effect. Discipleship is a ministry that creates lasting change in a person's life that bears fruit for many years to come. This is what enable me to persevere in the work. Praise God!

I am at DI by the grace of God

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast". Ephesians 2:8-9

Through a friend I started my ETS training program in September 2015 and by the grace of God I started working at DI in July 2016. While learning book 1 Beginning with Christ and book 2 Live the New Life I placed all my faith and trust in God and this is where He led me.

I am at DI by faith in God

"Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen". Hebrews 11:1

I believe God has led me to DI to grow in my love for Him and to serve others using the gifts He gave me.

I am at DI by love for God

"Because of the Lord's great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness." Lamentations 3:22-23

I am at DI to help others focus on their calling by freeing them up to do full time disciplining while I do the back ground work.

After making Christ my Lord, I struggled with applying myself in a way that I knew God wanted me to. But through the Discipleship International  Equip to Serve (ETS) program and a great mentor, my relationship grew substantially with Christ.

I learned the basic skills I needed to have a fruitful, and joy filled life. Daily quiet times, sharing my faith with others, and learning how to invest my lives in others. In January 2016, after completing book 3 and going on my first short term mission trip to Mexico, God gave me a deep desire to disciple others. So with the permission of my group leader I quickly organized a new “ETS” group.

Since then my time as an “ETS” leader has been very fulfilling. And now bringing teams to Mexico for short term missions is very exciting. I know that God has called me to serve Him by discipling others, and this is a vision that is shared by Discipleship International. So I trust God to use me as I join D.I. as an associate staff member.

Matthew 28:19-20 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

I accepted Christ as my saviour at the age of twelve.  My passion is to share God’s love with others, especially those who have never heard about the love of God. God showed me His plan from Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born, I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” I faithfully obeyed God’s call and decided to pursue theological studies.  I completed 4 years of theology and 2 years of counseling. I also have worked with Youth With A Mission for 3 years. I received a broader perspective on life, cultures. This opened my eyes to understand the need of learning effective tools for making disciples for Christ.

My husband and I founded STEP International and since 2005 served together. He has shown us the need of making disciples for Christ in Matthew 28:19-20.” In year 2010, God opened another door to reach out to people of different countries. In the midst of all the challenges, we faithfully followed God’s direction as a family. It was a challenging period for us to adopt a new culture and share God’s love with strangers.  We never stopped to reach out to people with our limited understanding and skills. God opened the door for us to testify His faithfulness without any cultural or language limitation. During nine years of our time in North America God helped us to grow more in our faith in the midst of crisis and difficult times.

Discipleship International and STEP International is in partnership since 2015. I was personally attracted to the six series of Equip to Serve (ETS) books. I enrolled to learn various effective tools to win, build and mobilize disciples for Christ. I speak four foreign languages that enables me to reach out to most of the South Asian countries such as North India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar. Discipleship International not only taught me the tools but also opened doors for me to fulfill the bigger plan of God here in North America and in South Asia. I am passionate about my current role as an outreach worker to disciple people as well as become a faithful disciple for Christ.

I was born and raised in Palawan, Philippines and became the 9th out of 10 siblings! I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior on December 28, 2001 through a youth camp.

Back  when I was living in the Palawan, I worked as a 2nd Associate Pastor at  Grace Baptist Church (GBC) for 5 years. There, I lead the campus, young adult, and short-term missions ministries.

Here in Canada, I worked with Filipino Fellowship Baptist Church  (FFBC) from 2017-2019. I focused on building the youth and pre-teen ministries, ETS groups, and the basketball & evangelism ministry.

Recently, I have come aboard the Discipleship International team as an Equip-To-Serve (ETS) Coordinator. With this new role, I have been working with different churches around the lower mainland, helping in their discipleship training.
